In July around 80 young people along with a team of leaders, explorers, helpers and parents spent the weekend at Cranham Scout Campsite. A wide range of activities were enjoyed including archery, badge making, backwoods cooking, pioneering, the assault course, rifle shooting, the traverse wall, orienteering, and a evening walk.
Monday Beavers along with all the Cubs and Scouts arrived at Cranham for the celebration camp on Friday. The weather was dull but dry and Beavers settled into the bunkhouse while the Cubs, Scouts and leaders put up their tents. Supper was served around about 9.30 and most of the members were asleep by 11.30. Up bright and early for breakfast prepared by a team of parents who volunteered to do all the catering for the whole weekend. Saturday started off bright and sunny. After breakfast the Thursday Beavers arrived. All were divided into their coloured teams each team doing a different activity. After breaking for snack attack and lunch all members came together into their colour teams and took part in various games till 5.45 when Monday beavers had to leave the site. Dinner was served at 6.00 after that there was a wide game followed by the camp fire with songs and sketches. On Sunday after breakfast all sections sorted their kit, putting on their uniforms ready for the Scouts own which we held in the camp fire circle followed by a group photo.
Thankyou to all the parents who helped with the camp from the catering staff to the help with all activities - without it we would have not been able to put on a camp that was full of enjoyment for so many young people. Also to all the leaders who organised and put on the activities, thankyou.
